York University Ladies 2nd Team First League Game
On Wednesday 14th October, York University Ladies Football 2nd team kick off their season in the BUCS Northern 4B league at home to University of Leeds 3rds.
Coach Chris Collins said ’It is always difficult to pick the first squad of the season especially with so many new players joining the club and the return of the successful players from last season. Players that have missed out this time, it does not mean they are not in our thoughts, we are still getting to know everyone. We also have a few injuries in the group, which has allowed us to look at some other players.’
When asked what he expects from this season, he said ‘After the tremendous run we had last year, finishing fifth in the league, we must be aiming to finish higher. Looking at the squad compared to last year, I feel we are in a stronger position, and I know all the ladies will do the University proud.’
