We welcomed everyone back for the first session after the break, and the first time in the clubs history we had 3 hours of coaching! Needless to say Coach Chris was shattered afterwards, but he did have a huge smile on his face!

We had one new player come and try Futsal for the first time – welcome Flo, we hope you had fun and we look forward to seeing you again very soon!

Moving forward from now, we are going to apply the same session topic to each hour, with just various levels and challenges for the different age groups. This block will be about defending, so we concentrated on body shape, being physical and trying to win the ball back.

It was really good to see the work rate from every group, the first hour set the standard, the second group continued it and the last group really did work hard. The final matches are always good to see if the session has changed anyones thoughts and needless to say we got some fantastic futsal on the court.

Player of the week for the first hour was Jean P – this young lady is still one of the youngest in the club, and incredibly she is approaching her 50th medal! She is never shy of an opinion and we love her confidence to ask a question or answer one! All the coaches think she is a such a fantastic character and we can’t wait to see her develop all the way to an U16s! Well done Jean, you are a star!

Player of the week for the second hour was Hattie F – Hattie is one of those players that just never stops running. She has fantastic feet, great technique and is now starting to apply this to her futsal development. We have high hopes for Hattie, she is definitely one we are watching for the future! Awesome performance Hattie!

Player of the week for the third hour was Sophie T – we are now starting to see the ability of Sophie and we can’t wait for more! She started slowly but is now showing us what a good player she really is. Her reading of the game is brilliant and she certainly has an eye for goal. We know there is so much more to come and we can’t wait to work with her in the future. Fab session Sophie!

Final thoughts of a coach – the decision to move to 3 hours was always a big financial risk, but with 41 girls attending on Sunday, this is a new club record, so thank you so much for all your amazing support. If it carries on like this, we won’t be long before we move to 4 hours! I purposely made the session challenging and I pleased to say the girls responded in exactly the way I wanted, not one of them let me down. Have a good week everyone, and we will see you all next week – Chris
