On Sunday 10 December Bootham U14s played a friendly match against York Railway Institute U14s at the University of York Sports Hall. The game was made possible by Junior Robert of York Futsal and was played before the men’s league game against Loughborough University. 

Bootham were represented by:

Jessica W, Heidi J, Lena L, Maja M, Hattie F, Lewis P, Hannah B, Aria P, Anna W and Jessica H

The girls played two 20-minute period and one 15-minute period with 5 minute breaks in-between.

The game had chances for both sides from the start with York RI eventually running out 8-5 winners. Bootham’s goal scorers were Hattie, Maja, and Hannah. Special mention to all the goalkeepers who made some fantastic saves. Seven on the eight York RI goals were also scored by Bootham Futsal players, Mollie and Poppy, so we are claiming a moral victory!

The highlight of the day came after the match when both sides had a 3 minute game against the players from York Futsal – ensue utter chaos! The smiles all-round showed what a huge success the match had been and a huge thank you to Junior for allowing the girls to play on the hallowed York court!
