Bootham Futsal Club are proud to announce that 6 of its members will be attending the first ever U19 Women’s England trials in December 2023.

The ladies – Katie D, Heather S, Katie V, Ava W, Sophie T and Ruby S, will be travelling down south to attend the first stage of the trial process. Off the back of the very successful Men’s U19 team, England are keen to start the process for the women’s equivalent.

Coach Chris spoke about this talent group, ‘I had no hesitation in recommending all these players, and I know they will do themselves and the club proud. It will be extremely hard to get the opportunity to represent your country, but I want to give anyone within the club the chance to showcase their talents at the highest level. Who knows, with that bit of luck and some serious hard work, we may just get one player into the squad!’

He finished by saying, ‘I am extremely proud of these young ladies, some have been with the club for over 5 years now. Inspired by Junior Roberti at York Futsal and his ‘Made in York’ idea we have the desire to one day field a complete team in the National Futsal Series of home-grown players, all of whom have come through the academy. We have 22 players at U14, who train regularly with the club, and with this six, and the rest of the upcoming U16s, the future of our club is extremely bright.’
