The ladies continue their quest for the FA Futsal League Cup on Saturday when they entertain Manchester at home. The League Cup is a champion’s league format with 4 teams, playing each other home and away, before being split into the Cup and Plate Competition early next year. Bootham face Tier 2 side Manchester, as well as Tier 1 sides Sunderland and Bolton. Having already taken a point off Sunderland, hope is high for another performance against Manchester.

The game will be played on Saturday 4 November at their home of St John’s University Sports Hall on Haxby Road. It kicks off at 1.00pm with doors open from 12.30pm. Admission is £3 for adults and free for U18s and all Bootham Futsal Club academy players.

The game is being sponsored by:

Sue Whittaker

Sue Whittaker is the proud mother of club captain Ellie Whittaker, and has been a regular at our games, both home and away since the club formed. We are delighted to welcome her as today’s match day sponsor.

During the week Coach Chris spoke to us about the forthcoming cup game, ‘The performance against Loughborough showed we are starting to move in the right direction with the way I want us to play. We looked after the ball better, moved it quicker, and looked a much more fluid futsal side. Manchester will bring a strong squad and challenge us in different ways to Loughborough. We have a few players missing but over the last month several players have massively improved and are challenging not only for a place in the squad but also to start.’
