On Friday 25 June, Bootham Girls’ Futsal Club – York, expands to Bootham Ladies Futsal Club – York, with the first ever open aged session. It is open to anyone over the age of 16 and completely free!

Location – St Olaves School, York (We will revert to St Peters after this first week)

Time – 7.00pm to 8.00pm

Date – Friday 25 June 2021

Cost – FREE (for the first 2 sessions)

It really is open to everyone, we want you all to come along and have some fun. All you need are a pair of indoor trainers, a drink and a have a go attitude – leave the rest to us!

Chairman of the club Chris said in conversation, ‘It has taken nearly 2 years to get to this stage, twice the start date was cancelled due to Covid. We missed out on some funding, again due to Covid, but finally we are able to get going. We want as many ladies/women/teenagers/girls as possible to come along and have a go, no previous experience is needed.’

He went on to say, ‘We have always wanted to add this last piece to the puzzle for our club. When the girls got to 16 we had nothing to offer them, now they can stay and play as much as they like for as long as they like. Who knows what the future will bring, but with the Women’s National League being televised we hope one day to enter a team in this competition.’
