Bootham Girls’ and Ladies’ Futsal Club – York would like to officially introduce our new Safeguarding Officer, Mr Paul Worthy. Paul comes with a wealth of experience in all areas of grassroots football and is fantastic addition to our growing club.

In conversation with Chairman Chris, Paul introduced himself, ‘Hi Everyone, my name is Paul Worthy and I’d like to introduce myself as the Bootham Girls’ & Ladies’ Futsal Club Welfare Officer.

I am committed to ensuring that the game provides a safe, friendly and fun experience for children of all ages. I currently hold the FA Safeguarding Children qualifications and also the Adult Safeguarding qualification.

My previous experience in Safeguarding is as Club Welfare Officer for Skelton United FC. I am also Primary School Governor with a local authority school and a Secondary School Governor with the Vision Academy Learning Trust.

My journey into coaching was the result of helping out with my daughter’s team at school and then with our local football club. Saturdays soon became our football day with a match in the morning followed by a trip to the Riverside to watch Middlesbrough play. Yes, for our sins we had season tickets for the Boro!

As club Welfare Officer for Bootham Girls’ and Ladies’ Futsal Club, I will act as first point of contact for any person who has a concern about child welfare and or child protection

I can be contacted on 07815 889215 or e-mail me at safeguarding@procoachingacademy.co.uk

Please feel free to come and meet me at the club on Friday night or Sunday morning sessions.’

Chairman Chris said ‘Paul is a fantastic addition to our staff and his knowledge and enthusiasm are plain to see. If you see him around, say hello and please make him feel very welcome to our club.’
