On Saturday 11 June 2016 in the evening it was the York Railway Institute U13 Girls’ presentation night, and the team and parents attended at the club house.

As coaches it is both rewarding and sad to award players individual trophies for their achievements throughout the season.  On one hand you want to praise individual achievements but football is a team game and without each other, the individuals can’t really shine!  Oh well!

The girls have had an amazing season with the following stats from league, cup and tournaments:

Played: 37, Won: 32, Drawn: 1, Lost: 4, Scored: 156, Against: 17

They managed to win the domestic treble of league, cup and one day league tournament, which was an incredible achievement.  They also finished runners-up in their own one day tournament.

The awards were as follows:

We gave a special mention to Ben and Sam for their help at training and match days throughout the season, both boys are a real credit to their parents, huge thank you!

Hat-trick balls were awarded to Alexia – 13 hat-ticks, Chloe J – 4 hat-tricks, Denva – 1 hat-trick and Katie – hat-trick of penalty saves in one game, and 26 clean sheets in the season.

Trainer Of The Year – Alexia and Denva who did not miss a practice all year.

Respect Award – Tegan who never stopped smiling all year.

Goal Of The Season – Chloe J & Alexia – both goals were amazing, couldn’t split them!

Parents’ Award – Lauren who was super ‘Squeaky’ all season!

Most Improved – Denva who was a fantastic captain all season.

Clubman Of The Year – Alexia who represented the club to all its best this season.

Players’ Player – Chloe H who we have nearly got to stop saying sorry every week!!!

Player Of The Year – Amber, there isn’t a blade of grass she has not covered this year, brilliant season.

As coaches, without the support of the players and parents we have nothing, and so all the hard work and energy that everyone puts in makes it all worthwhile.  Huge thank you for the cards and presents, the messages made us really smile.
