Bootham Futsal Club Vs Bishopthorpe White Rose U11s
On Saturday 30 June Bootham Futsal Club played their first home game in ages against Bishopthorpe White Rose U11 at St Peters. They played four 15-minute constant clock games with players all getting equal playing time.
Bootham were represented by:
Naomi L (Captain), Amelia H, Raya S, Emily C, Mandy M, Lottie H, Ivy A, Iris W, Isabelle S and Freya L.
Bootham had no recognised goalkeeper in their squad so special thank you to Iris, Naomi, Lottie and Mandy for going in goal.
Game 01
In a close game Bootham scored early through Isabelle and Naomi, but Bishopthorpe never gave up and scored late to make it a close game.
Game 02
Bishopthorpe scored early this time and Bootham had to come from behind with goals from Isabelle and great finish from Raya.
Game 03
Bishopthorpe stated well and took control of the game with two very well taken goals. Bootham pushed hard but couldn’t beat an excellent Bishopthorpe goalkeeper.
Game 04
As player started to tire, mistakes by the Bootham players were punished by great finishing from Bishopthorpe who raced into a 3-0 lead. A very well taken goal by Emily saw hope for Bootham but a late goal for Bishopthorpe saw them run out comfortable winners.
Player of the Matches, as chosen by Paul and Ava were:
Freya L – She had one her best games for Bootham, playing as a very secure safety and making great blocks time after time. She also got forward very quickly and created plenty of chances for Bootham, great performance!
Raya S – Another player who really has raised her game this season, she made so many good runs and scored a brilliant goal. Her confidence is increasing every game and she looked at easy today, both in and out of possession, top job!
We spoke to Coach Chris after the games and he said, ‘These games are priceless for these girls, with the more time they spent on court the more confidence they will get. We must remember some of these girls today were playing their first ever futsal match. I was very impressed by the way everyone worked together, and we did score some fantastic goals, really pleasing to watch and a great start to their futsal journey.’
Huge thank you to Bishopthorpe White Rose for coming down on a Sunday morning and playing the games, you were amazing and are welcome back any time!
