On Friday, England Futsal, the new operators of the National Futsal Series, announced the format and participating teams for the 2026/27 National Futsal Series.

Following our National Tier 2 Championship success, Bootham Ladies earned the right to be promoted to Tier 1. After careful consideration, however, the club has made the difficult decision not to take up that opportunity for the upcoming season.

Instead, our focus will be on continuing to build a strong and sustainable foundation that will support the club’s long-term growth and future success. While this was not an easy decision, Chairman Chris believes it is the right one to ensure the longevity, stability, and continued development of Bootham Ladies.

We are incredibly proud of what the players, coaches, and everyone involved with the club achieved last season. We remain committed to building on that success and look forward to continuing our journey together.

Bootham’s opponents in Tier 2 – North next season are as follows:

City of Peterborough Ladies Futsal Club
Coventry Godiva Ladies Futsal Club
Manchester Women’s Futsal Club
Project Futsal (Liverpool)
Team Sunderland Ladies Futsal Club

Bootham Ladies will once again face familiar opposition in the 2026/27 National Futsal Series. They will renew their rivalry with old adversaries Manchester Futsal Club and take on City of Peterborough for only the second time, having first met during last season’s campaign.

The new season will also see the return of two familiar rivals, Sunderland and Project Futsal, both of whom rejoin the league after a season away. Completing the line-up is Coventry Godiva, who will make their National Futsal Series debut, giving Bootham Ladies a brand-new opponent to face for the first time.
