With the cancellation of the last game at the end of last year away to Warrington, Bootham Ladies play their first league game of the new year on Saturday 28 January when they entertain Derby at St Peter’s School.

This is the first time the ladies will have played since they travelled to St Georges Park in November 2022. Coach Chris is still unable to pick his strongest team with players absent through injury and other commitments. In conversation he said, ‘We have trained really well since the last game, and I am confident of a good performance against a very good Derby side. Unfortunately, we have had some drop out for various reasons, and I know the squad will not be at its strongest.’

He continued, ‘That said, we are working on a couple of new signings that will really strengthen us and hopefully soon I will be able to pick all these players together. What I do know is that the players who play on the day will give us 100% and wear the shirt with pride.’
