West Riding Girls Futsal League – Spring League Week 03 – 2026

Bootham Girls U11s and U14s returned to Batley for their second round of games in the West Riding Girls Futsal League.
After a tough start to the season, the U11s arrived determined to continue their improvements and prove they are not just here to make up the numbers. With new players making their debuts and confidence growing across the squad, the stage was set for an exciting day of futsal, and anything could happen!
The U11 were represented by Amy W-C, Ania G, Eady M, Iris W, Isabelle S, Isabella S, Charlotte C, Lily N, Mia T, Miesha D and a huge thank you to Freya B for helping us out in goal.

After a win and a loss in their opening games, the U14s were looking to rediscover the consistency they’ve shown throughout the season. In their previous matches they created enough chances to win both games, but just lacked that cutting edge in front of goal to truly put the results beyond doubt.
With another round of fixtures ahead, the question was whether they could turn those performances into results and make it two wins from two this time.
TheU14s were represented by Imogen B, Rusne V, Maisie M, Maya G, Mollie C, Scarlett W (GK), Sophie C, Emily C and Emily W.

Player of the Week – U11s – Miesha – First time in a Bootham shirt for this young lady today, and she wore it with pride. She never stopped running, constantly looking to pass and play futsal the right way. To top it off, she scored a couple of fantastic goals too. A brilliant debut, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you, Miesha!
Player of the Week – U14s – Maya – Another player who just keeps getting better every time she steps on the court. Maya is really starting to find her feet in this older age group and is always looking to play the game the right way. A top performance today, capped off with a fantastic goal to put the icing on the cake. Well done, Maya!

Coaches Comments: Coach Michael said after the games, “The Under 11s are right at the start of their journey playing competitive futsal and we couldn’t be prouder of them. Every single player battled for every ball, produced some great passing, and managed plenty of shots on goal, all while, hopefully, having lots of fun. We have to remember the standard of opposition they’re facing, but the girls are improving massively week by week. Super proud of them all!
The Under 14s had mixed results today with a narrow defeat followed by a convincing win. With most of the team heading to Italy soon, it was great for them to get valuable experience together and realise how important it is to rely on everyone in the squad to get results. The passing involved in some of the goals, and chances, was simply sublime, and it’s fantastic to see them really starting to gel as a team.“
