The U13s completed their Winter League campaign with two final fixtures in Batley. Once again, with no goalkeeper available, the team relied on the goodwill and bravery of outfield players to step into the role. After several tightly contested matches throughout the season, many decided by a single goal, the squad were determined to finish the campaign on a high.

The U13s also handed a league debut to rising star Isabella, who has been a standout performer in training and fully deserved her opportunity.  Bootham were represented by Rusnė V, Emily C, Maya G, Lily N, Amelia H, Isabelle and Isabella.

Final League Table

Player of the Week – U13s Isabella – A fantastic debut from a young lady playing up an age group. She looked completely in control throughout and topped off an excellent performance with a superb goal. The future looks very bright, we can’t wait to see how she progresses in the coming years!

A special mention to Rusne V, who played in goal for both games and made history as the youngest goalscoring goalkeeper. A fantastic achievement, well done!

Coaches Comments:

Coach Tyler said after the game, ‘A great way to finish off this winter league with a draw and a thumping win. The results have not been what we have focused on but the progression and performances from the players and that has been superb. We have seen so many players wear the Bootham shirt for the first time and we know many of them will be around for many more years to come. The experience they have gained from the previous 12 games has been amazing and we cannot wait for the next league to start.

Everyone at Bootham Futsal Club would like to say a huge thank you to John and Connor from the league for organising an amazing set of fixtures and to all our opposition at every age group for some wonderful futsal matches. Let us hope many more teams get bitten by the futsal bug and the league continues to grow from strength to strength.
