On Thursday 9 April 2026, coaches Tyler, Suzy and Chris were part of a historic moment in the development of the England Futsal Lionesses. The Lionesses played their first ever home fixture, taking on Slovakia in the opening match of a two-game friendly series, with both games held at Loughborough University.

The day also marked the inaugural England Futsal National Conference, where the coaches attended a range of insightful presentations delivered by international coaches and leading futsal organisations.

Adding to the excitement, the occasion became even more memorable when Bootham Academy player Charlotte was selected as one of the mascots for the Lionesses’ game, an unforgettable experience and a proud moment for everyone involved!

Needless to say, the day was a roaring success. A fiercely contested match kept fans on the edge of their seats, while a near-capacity crowd created an electric atmosphere, filled with excitement and pride.

After such an unforgettable occasion, the future is most definitely bright for the England Futsal Lionesses!
