Just over two weeks ago, our Chairman Chris decided to drop a message to Swizzels, the creators of the legendary Squashies sweets.

Anyone involved with the club will know that Tyler turns up to just about every training session and match across all age groups armed with a trusty packet of Squashies. It has become such a familiar sight that the club thought it would be a really nice gesture if Swizzels could send Tyler a simple message to say thank you for everything he does. What happened next was completely unexpected.

A few days later, Chris received a phone call from Beccy at Swizzels and not long after that a huge parcel landed on the doorstep. Inside were mountains of sweets along with a note that absolutely made Tyler’s day and probably his year too. And this is the note that was attached…

So, on Sunday, after the final whistle of the very last game of the year, we had one more thing up our sleeve… a surprise for Tyler. In front of the U14s and their parents, Tyler was presented with his official staff sweatshirt, an ultra-exclusive item that money simply can’t buy 😎, followed by the reveal of THREE absolutely massive boxes of sweets 🍭🍬. Safe to say, the reaction was priceless!

This all came about thanks to the amazing generosity of Beccy at Swizzels, who went above and beyond to support the club. Your kindness truly means the world to us, and to one very grateful, and sugar-rich Tyler.

And of course, the biggest thank you of all goes to Tyler 💙 From turning up week after week, helping across all age groups, and somehow always having a packet of Squashies ready at the perfect moment, the club simply wouldn’t be the same without you.
