In the final game of the year, Bootham Girls U14s travelled to Hull to face Hull Eagles Futsal Greens in a true top of the table showdown. With both sides boasting perfect 100 percent records, three wins apiece and no defeats, the stakes could not have been higher. Bragging rights, league supremacy and an unbeaten year were all on the line, and everything pointed towards a fiercely contested encounter.

The match was played over two 20 minute halves with a running clock, setting the stage for a fast paced, high energy contest from the opening whistle to the final buzzer.

Bootham rang the changes once again. Elena D was handed her first start against Hull, while Imogen B returned to the squad. Adding an extra layer of intrigue, Alexia D lined up against her former side. The team took to the court with Emily C, Jess H (C), Elena D, Bonnie Shai C, Sophie C, Alexia D, Mollie C, Imogen B, and Scarlett W (GK), a lineup brimming with energy, talent, and belief.

The team were also delighted to be joined by Ladies 1st Team goalkeeper Katie Samson, who came along to support and watch the next generation in action. Her presence meant a huge amount to the squad and was a fantastic boost for everyone involved. Thank you for your amazing support, Katie!

League Table – Week 04

Player of the Week – Imogen B – We asked Imogen to step into a different role today, and she absolutely grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck. A superb performance from start to finish, she showed exactly why she’s such an outstanding player. It’s no surprise the ladies’ team are keeping a very close eye on her now. Top job, Immy!

Coaches Comments: Coach Chris said after the games, It was really good to watch the girls play in Hull today, and that was probably the best team performance we’ve seen from them this season. Not one player had a bad day, everyone contributed to a superb all-round team performance. The first half was very close and Hull played some good futsal. Scarlett made a couple of smart saves to keep us in it. After the break, all eight outfield players really upped their game and we played some lovely stuff.

We spoke at half-time about using the width of the court and not occupying the same space, making sure we had one player high and one around halfway and they did that brilliantly. It opened up the court and created so much more space for the team. A huge thank you to all the support we had today, and it was a great way to end the year.
