Well, we reach the end of another block of coaching, and what a fantastic 5 weeks it has been! We have seen so many players improve in leaps and bounds, with the application of futsal going through the proverbial sport hall roof!

No write up this week, just sit back and enjoy how good the girls have been. A few photos to look at, and a coaches thought at the end.

Final thoughts of a coach – we had a large number of players away due to a grassroots football trip arranged to go and see the Manchester City vs Chelsea Women’s game, and it is reflection on the club that we thought that 50 girls playing was a low number. A couple of years ago we would have laughed if you said we would even have 50 players, oh how the club has grown…

I received a wonderful message from a parent this week. I’m not going to go into details, needless to say messages like this, when we put the players front and centre of the club, mean the world to all the coaches. Thank you to the family involved, you did make us all smile.

A quick message for York Futsal player Lewis, who’s sister Leilah plays for Bootham Futsal Club, who suffered a horrible injury in Sundays mens league game – everyone hopes you heal quickly and get back on court asap!

This season we have given out more bronze and silver appearence medals than any year in the past. I guess this is always going to be the case as the club grows but 100 training sessions, when we train about 30 times a year, is fantastic commitment from such young players, and it only seems right to reward their loyalty. By the end of this season we will also have awarded our first ever gold medals to two amazing young ladies. Check back in July to meet these amazing players!
