Bootham Ladies Futsal Club – York are delighted to announce the signing of Lucy Grehan-Bradley for the remainder of the 2022-23 season. Lucy is currently working at St Peter’s School and has a vast football pedigree. She has had spells at Durham, Durham County and Hyde United. She was also president at the University of York Football club. She openly admits futsal is new to her but is relishing the chance to play for Bootham.

Head Coach Chris said in conversation, ‘This is another massive signing for us. Lucy has shone in training so far and we are excited to see what she can do in the forthcoming games. She has a real eye for goal, which is something we are lacking in the squad, and we know she can score plenty of goals in the remainder of this season.

He went on to say, ‘The last two results have shown that we are slowly building a squad that can compete in this league. With the number of academy graduates that will be available next season, it really is an exciting time for Bootham Futsal Club. The U16s qualified for the next round of the Pokemon Futsal Cup and many of these are desperate to play for the ladies team. As a coach, it’s a fantastic position to be in.’

He finished by saying, ‘We are still talking to a few more players and hoping to strengthen the squad even more before the end of the transfer window, so who knows, watch this space.’

Why not come down and support Lucy in her debut for Bootham Ladies’ Futsal Club as they host Loughborough on Saturday 18 February at St Peters School, York – doors open at 2.30pm and kick off is 3.00pm
