Bootham Girls Vs Wetherby U10s – Friendly

The club’s youngest group continued their match development when they welcomed Wetherby U10s to York St John’s on Sunday 10 May. With a huge squad to choose from and a very keen opposition, the scene was set for some scintillating futsal, plenty of drama, and hopefully a few fantastic goals!
These games are crucial in fostering a love of the game within our youngest age group. They are the future of the club, and we are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, commitment, and progress being shown by all involved at this level.
The matches were played over 20 minutes with a rolling clock and rolling substitutes, ensuring every player had the opportunity to contribute.
Bootham were represented by: Mia T, Ivy A, Amy W-C, Charlotte C, Eva D, Harriett-Rose G-P, Eady M, Ania G, Beatrix P, Isabella S, Iris P, Sabine R-T and Iris W.
Huge thank to Sabine for helping us out in goal, you are once again a superstar!

Player of the Day was Iris W as chosen by Coach Michael – Iris embodies everything we love about coaching. She gives 100% effort every week and always brings a brilliant attitude. She’s a pleasure to coach and did a fantastic job as the safety for us today! Well done, Iris!

Coach Michaels Comments: Coaching futsal is as new to me as playing it is to some of these girls. You want them to be successful when we have games, but above all, you want them to have fun. This group in particular though makes the job so much more enjoyable. They give it their all and talk, a lot, but they also listen to what you have to say. It’s also been lovely to see their confidence grow over the last few weeks. You could see the training really start to pay off for them today, and I hope they get some more match opportunity soon!
