After the dust has settled on an incredible season for the ladies, here are just a few stats that show exactly why they were crowned National Tier 2 League Champions!

It truly couldn’t have been any tighter at the top. After 14 hard-fought games, the ladies secured the league title on goal difference ahead of a fantastic Manchester side.

A season defined by determination, consistency, and teamwork, and one that will be remembered for a long time to come. Here are some of the standout stats from the ladies’ first ever National League title-winning season!

Goals win matches and Natasha Eustance proved to be one of the very best, finishing as joint top scorer in the league. She was backed up brilliantly by Heather SmithNikki Brown, and Erin Elliott, who all finished in the league’s top 10 goal scorers, a huge reflection of the attacking quality throughout the squad.

Ellie Whittaker captained the side more than any other player this season, showing outstanding leadership, commitment, and determination throughout the title-winning campaign.

Every successful squad needs players like Suzy Collins, week in, week out she was always there. No fuss, no glory, just hard graft and unwavering support for her teammates. A huge part of the team’s success, and incredibly, she didn’t miss a single game all season.

Heather Smith started every game she played this season for Bootham, showing incredible consistency and reliability throughout the campaign. Add in her outstanding goal return, and she surely has to be considered one of the league’s Players of the Season?

And finally, onto the naughty step… Katie Samson picked up the club’s first ever red card, although she’s still adamant the referee got it wrong! Odd fact of the season: three of the four red cards handed out across the entire league this year all came in Bootham matches!

And finally, a player who will probably top the league charts for very different reasons in the future, Erin Elliott certainly made her mark this season with a collection of yellow cards along the way! But if there’s one thing it proves, it’s that she never backs down, gives everything for the team, and has a fierce determination to win every time she steps onto the court.

All these stats show just how consistent this team has been across the entire season, goals, appearances, leadership, commitment, but what they don’t show is the hard work put in every single week behind the scenes.

We have played against some fantastic new coaches and players, travelled to different venues, visited new cities and thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of it.

From the very first preseason session to the final training night of the year, these ladies gave absolutely everything. The team travelled over 3,000 miles this season, which is honestly insane, and not once did the players complain. Tyler did… regularly 😅 …but the ladies just got on with it, showing the attitude and dedication of true champions. That spirit, togetherness, and commitment is what really made this season so special.

As a coach, I simply couldn’t ask for any more. Thank you for making history for Bootham Futsal Club.

National Tier 2 League Champions sounds so very nice 🏆
