After the match, Coach Chris shared his thoughts on the evening:

“These games are always played in a fantastic spirit, and a huge thank you to the University for offering us the opportunity. We wish them all the very best in their upcoming Varsity game.”

He also highlighted the importance of matches like these for player development:

“Game time is always valuable, especially for those trying to break into the squad, or our academy players still learning the game. It’s fantastic to watch how the senior players support and guide the younger ones, helping them gain crucial on-court experience.”

Chris also gave a special mention to Bootham’s goalkeeper:

“Well done to Megan, who managed to keep a clean sheet for the entire evening, particularly impressive with our usual first-team goalkeeper watching from the York goal!”
