On Saturday 7th May is the City of York Girls’ Football League Cup Finals held each year at Poppleton Junior Football ground on Millfield Lane in York.

The day kicks off at 10.00am with the U13s 7v7 and 9v9, and the U16s.  As these games finish, the remaining matches will take place, namely U12, U14 and U15 finals.

In addition 6 specially invited teams, 2 from the U10 division and 4 from the U11 divisions will also participate in the finals day.  The U11 fixtures will kick off at 10am and U10 fixture will kick off at 11am.

It is always a fantastic spectacle for girls’ football in York and we encourage anyone in and around York to come down on Saturday and have a look.  Rawcliffe U12s, York RI U13s 7v7, Fulford U13s 9V9, Brayton U14s, and Scarborough U15s are all looking to win the double in their respective age groups!  In previous years the league champions have not always had it their own way, and expect surprises and upsets, league results count for nothing on finals day!

A day not to be missed – and the weather is supposed to be hotter than Ibiza – what more can we ask for?
