Fab Friendly With Wigginton Grasshopper Ladies

On Monday evening, Bootham Ladies welcomed Wigginton Grasshoppers Ladies to York St John University for a friendly futsal fixture. The match was split into four 20-minute games, played with a continuous clock, offering plenty of opportunity for both squads to develop and enjoy the fast-paced format.
Bootham fielded a diverse squad made up of academy players, senior ladies squad members, and coaching staff, showcasing the depth and versatility within the club. Representing Bootham on the night were:
Emily-Sue Toye, Heather Smith, Jess Baker, Nikki Brown, Ellie Whittaker, Kim Samson, Izabelle Fernandes, Abbie Drewer, Erin Elliott, Freya Devine, Katie Hardie, Megan Gration, Suzy Collins, and Eleanor Comrie.
All four games were played in an excellent spirit, with both teams showing great commitment, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout. Special credit goes to Wigginton Grasshoppers Ladies, who were playing in their first ever futsal match—a brilliant milestone for their club. They approached the game with a fantastic attitude and adapted quickly to the demands of the futsal format, demonstrating great potential for the future.
