The last session of 2024, and with Coaches Chris and Tyler in Leeds with the U12s and U13, and Coach Paul away in Loughborough for his daughters first ever England U19 game, ladies’ players Suzy, Katie and Kim stepped up and ran the session. A few games of futsal bingo were played with lots of smiles and fun along the way. Top job and thank you for everyone’s hard work.

Final Thoughts of a Coach…

Huge thank you to Suzy, Katie and Kim for taking today’s session, feedback from the parents was it was fab, and the players really enjoyed it.

As the year came to an end, I had the absolute privilege to go and watch two Bootham players make their England U19 debut. When we started the club 8 years ago, we had lots of milestones we wanted one day to reach – girls teams at each age group, a ladies team, new coaches, and one day an international player from the club. On Monday 16 December we ticked that one off the list when Ruby Shaw and Ava Worthy pulled on that fabled shirt. I am bursting with pride to know I had a small part in their journey to get to this level. It is real testament to them both for all their hard work and dedication that they have been given this opportunity. I promise I will do all I can to make sure the next group of players have the same opportunity to step up to this level. The future is bright, it is very, very Bootham bright!

Thank you to each and every one who is involved with the club, the players, parents, coaches and supporters – you all make the journey amazing. I hope you all get loads of futsal related presents, have a fantastic Christmas, a very merry New Year and we will see you all again in 2025 for the start of yet another fantastic futsal year!
