Bootham Girls’ Futsal Club – York are delighted to announce their various age group captains for the upcoming York Girls Futsal Cup 2025. It was not an easy choice for any of the age groups as we have over 50 superb young ladies training regularly with the club. The coaches looked at various traits of a captain, not just being the best players, but a player the rest of the team would respect and look up to. Here are our final choices:

U10 – Lotti H

Lotti is a real worker and never once stops when she is on the court. New to futsal this season she has shown a great desire to get better and better each week. Hugely talented and one we hope stays at the club for many years to come!

Why not send Lotti a good luck message for her and the U10s for Sunday 19 January?

U12 – Isabelle S

A future captain for the ladies’ team in the making. Not only is she a very talented player, but she is also a fantastic young lady. She never hogs the limelight, makes sure all her teammates are involved in the game and motivates everyone, whether on court or on the bench, a true players captain!

Why not send Isabelle a good luck message for her and the U12s for Sunday 26 January?

U14 – Jess H

One of the most underrated players in the club, and that’s because she just gets on with her work, never stresses, never complains but her performances are spot on. She is one of the best tacklers in the club, really does put her body on the line, and has even had a signature move named after herself – the Jess Turn!

Why not send Jess a good luck message for her and the U14s for Sunday 2 February?

U16 Red – Lena L

Lena does everything at 100 miles an hour, we keep telling her to slow down! What we never want her to change is her desire to win, her attitude to giving 200% every time she goes on court. She never lets her head drop and constantly wants to improve; just what coaches love!

Why not send Lena a good luck message for her and the U16s for Sunday 9 February?

U16 Blue – Hannah B

One of the current crops of U15/U16s that has been training regularly with the ladies’ team, and she has learned so much. Possibly the most vocal player in the club, she covers every metre of the court and never stops from the first whistle to the last. An easy choice for captain as we know she will not let her teammates or the club down on the day.

Why not send Hannah a good luck message for her and the U16s for Sunday 9 February?

The countdown has started, and we are only days away from the start of the U10s event. The Bootham players and coaches are nervous but can’t wait to get started. Please join us in wishing all the players, coaches and parents a fab time at each event. Please can we cheer everyone on and here’s to all the saves, goals, near misses and excitement we know we will get at each day!
