It’s A Tradition, Lets Play! – Week 20 – Season 9

As we came to the end of another block of coaching, it was time, following club tradition, to give the players an opportunity to showcase what they had learned over the previous weeks. The U11s had recently played their first ever competitive fixtures in Leeds, so it was particularly exciting to see how much they had developed from that experience.
In the older group, with several new players joining, the focus was on identifying what concepts had been understood and successfully applied, as well as highlighting the areas that will need more time and attention in the coming weeks.
The Sunday before Easter is always a special and enjoyable session, with Easter eggs for all, a small token of appreciation from the club to recognise the tremendous effort and commitment shown by the players since the start of the year.

First Hour – Harriet-Rose – One of our youngest and newest players, Harriet-Rose has shown incredible improvement since her very first session. She brings great energy to the pitch, never backs out of a challenge, and has an absolute rocket of a shot. The future is looking very bright for her, fantastic work, Harriet-Rose!
Second Hour – Scarlett – Scarlett is a player who has taken her time to find her feet, and she’s now really starting to show what a strong player she is becoming. She produced so many great touches today, worked tirelessly throughout, and does it all with a big smile on her face. Brilliant effort, top job, Scarlett!

England Women’s Futsal are set to make history this April as they prepare to play their first ever competitive home international fixture. The landmark occasion represents a major step forward for the growth of the women’s futsal game in England, offering players the opportunity to perform on home soil in a competitive setting for the very first time.
The event will also coincide with the first ever National Futsal Conference, bringing together players, coaches, and key figures from across the game. This unique combination highlights the continued development of futsal in England, creating a platform not only for elite competition but also for learning, collaboration, and growth within the sport.
Adding to the excitement, Heather and Erin will represent the England U19s at the conference, an outstanding achievement for both players and a proud moment for the club, reflecting the strength of its pathway and player development.
Having steadily developed in recent years, the national side will be looking to build on their progress and showcase the quality and potential within the squad. Playing in front of a home crowd is expected to provide an extra boost, as supporters get the chance to witness elite-level women’s futsal up close and be part of a significant moment in the sport’s journey.
We for one, just can’t wait!
Come on England!!
