On Sunday 17 May, Bootham U14 Girls returned to Hull for what could prove to be a title decider as they took on Hull Eagle Blue. Two of the top teams in the Girls Junior League went head-to-head, both knowing that a win would be hugely important.

Bootham travelled with one of their strongest line-ups, with the entire squad set to fly to Italy later in the year. Hopes were high for the girls to maintain their unbeaten run, but they knew they would need to be at their absolute best.

Bootham were represented by Emily C, Imogen B, Jess H (Captain), Maisie M, Maya G, Mollie C, Rusnė V, Scarlett W and Sophie Craven.

League Table – Week 7

Players of the Match – Emily C & Maja G – Player of the Match – We couldn’t split these two today! Emily and Maja were outstanding from start to finish, showing great confidence, passing, tackling, and attacking play throughout the game. Both players have come such a long way in futsal, and it’s brilliant to see their hard work starting to shine through. Despite being two of our smallest players, they showed no fear taking on bigger opponents and fully deserved their shared Player of the Match award. Well done, girls! 👏⚽

Coaches Comments: Coach Michael said after the games, “With the full squad heading to Italy soon, this game against a strong Hull side was a great test for the girls. This group understands futsal really well and always works hard for each other. The final 10 minutes were especially impressive, with the girls pressing high, showing great energy, and staying calm on the ball when it mattered most. The passing, movement, and teamwork continue to improve every week, and it’s exciting to see how much this group is developing. Bright days ahead for this team. 🇮🇹⚽”
