We can’t quite believe we’ve already reached the end of our first block of coaching for this season, where has the time gone?! It’s been fantastic to welcome back so many familiar faces, as well as some brand new ones to the club. We hope you’ve all had a great time, learned a few new skills, and left each session with a huge smile on your face!

We ended our finishing block with an exciting fun finishing game! Playing 3v3 on half a court, players were encouraged to shoot as early as possible and use their extra teammate near the goal to create scoring chances. We challenged everyone to strike with whichever part of the foot felt right, including the underrated toe poke! Every time a team scored, their goalkeeper restarted play to keep the tempo high. The result? Some incredible goals, lightning-fast shots, and clever use of the end players. A brilliant way to close out this block — energy, creativity, and confidence on display from everyone!

First Hour – Ivy A
It seems she might have been practising or maybe playing against her brother, but Ivy’s shooting went up a couple of notches today! Top job Ivy, your hard work is really paying off. Keep improving and enjoying your futsal, brilliant to see the progress!

Second Hour – Naomi L
We love this kid! She’ll argue black is white with the coaches and find any way she can to bend the rules of a session, but she never stops working and her talent shines through. The future is oh so bright, top, top job, Naomi!

Third Hour – Hattie F
It’s like coaching the Energiser Bunny, push start, stand back, and watch her go! The energy this young lady has should honestly be bottled. Add to that her understanding of the game, which has gone through the roof since the start of the season, and ladies, you’ve got a player on your hands for next season! We just can’t wait, Hattie!

As we come to the end of our first block of sessions, I thought I’d answer the question I get asked the most by parents: “I’m not a coach, so what can I actually do to help?”

Well… quite a lot, actually!

  • Wash the kit – after a weekend I can have up to four sets piled up, and my washing machine is starting to ask for overtime pay.
  • Take a few photos – you don’t need to be David Bailey; even a few slightly blurry action shots make the session reviews far more entertaining.
  • Round up the gear – bibs, balls, cones, the odd water bottle that’s been left behind… it all saves me from doing my best headless-chicken impression at the end.
  • Lend a hand with the kit – carrying a bag or two to the car means I’m less likely to resemble a pack donkey.
  • Get your child there on time – the smoother the start, the better the session, and fewer grey hairs for me.
  • Mark attendance on the app – helps us plan ahead and avoids the “are they coming?” guessing game.

On a serious note, running the club takes a huge amount of time and energy. None of us are paid to do it, we do it because we love giving your daughters the chance to try something new, to grow in confidence, and hopefully to make a few friendships that last a lifetime.

So please, do what you can. It really does make a huge difference, and it keeps the club running for everyone to enjoy. Have a good break and we will see you back here on Sunday 9 November 2025.
