Final
Player of the Tournament for Bootham, as picked by Coach Tyler was Rusne – she battled throughout every game and put in some fantastic tackles. She got a nasty ball in her face and carried on regardless, great fighting spirit, great performance Rusne!
Coaches Thoughts – I was so pleased by the way the girls kept going in every game. As is the Bootham way, we took a mixed group of various ages, and we had two 10-year-olds playing today, and they fitted in very well. It is always a challenge to play with girls you don’t really know so well done to them all for being a team, not just a group of individuals. After the final we talked about losing and how it is a very important part of sport – you tend to lose more than you win, so players must deal with it and and come back stronger. They were obviously disappointed to lose in the final, but they should be very proud of reaching it in the first place.
Huge thank you to JFS and Hull Eagles for the invite. It was a brilliantly organised day, with fantastic support for all the teams, and we would love to come back in the future to try again.
