After 10 months of coaching, countless training sessions, and many matches in Leeds, Hull, York, and Italy, we came to the final session of the season.

It was a celebration of everything we have achieved this year: lots of great play, plenty of smiles, and, of course, a few moments of cheating—mainly from the coaches, of course. We couldn’t let the players win all the time, could we?

It has been a long and tiring season, with a few headaches along the way. We have said goodbye to some members but welcomed some brilliant new ones. We have won silverware, returned to Italy with a young group who did the club proud beyond words, and watched our ladies achieve the unimaginable by winning the Tier 2 National Title.

On a sad note, we say goodbye to Coach Paul, who has been my right-hand man for the past seven seasons. He has helped grow the club into everything it is today, shown incredible support when we needed it most, and, above all else, demonstrated to the whole country what Bootham Futsal Club is all about. He will be missed dearly, and when we return in September, I know it will feel like something is missing.

Thank you, Paul “The Wall.” Legend doesn’t even begin to do you justice….

Thank you to all our players, parents, coaches, supporters, the teams we have played against, and everyone who has taken an interest in our small club. Your support means more than you know.

And thank you, Suzy, for letting this idea get completely out of hand. None of it would have been possible without you.

Next year marks our 10th anniversary—something I never imagined we would reach—so expect something a little special…

Have a fantastic summer. Never stop believing in this amazing club, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Coach Chris
