Players of the Tournament

Coach Paul picked Imogen and Livia for Bootham Bar Girls, he said they both worked so hard for the whole tournament and made so fantastic goal saving tackles, fab performance from both.

Coach Ava picked for Bootham Girls Aria and Heidi, she said both girls were outstanding in what they did today. Aria really did cover the whole court and put the opposition under huge pressure, and Heidi made some outstanding saves at important times within the games.

Coach Chris, who was refereeing the event said afterwards, ‘That was interesting to watch as I was not really involved in any of the coaching today. Huge thank you to Paul and Ava for looking after the 2 squads, the players really responded to their ideas. We saw good futsal being played by both our teams, and they both got better the more they played. I think early on they gave the Schoolgirls side too much respect and allowed them to dictate the games. Is it a case of not believing in themselves, is that something I must look at and work with the players on, I’m not sure. That said, I am very proud of the way they all our players performed and good luck to the Schoolgirls side and we wish them the very best in the next round.
