Player of the Week – U12s – Lily N – I honestly don’t think she has played any better in a Bootham shirt. She won tackles she shouldn’t have today, beat girls twice her size, made interceptions that looked beyond her reach and dribbled the ball as good as anyone on the court. A top performance for a star in the making, awesome job Lily!

Player of the Week – U14s – Mandy M – I am so proud of Mandy for all the hard work she puts in week after week and today she finally got her rewards with a very well taken goal, her first goal ever we believe! She never complains and just gets on with it, huge well-done Mandy, and here’s to more goals to come!

Huge well done to Mollie and Rusne who played for both age groups, you were both stunning and a tribute to the club, thank you!

Coach’s Comment – I think that both sides will know they should have won both games today, but it just wasn’t their day. The certainly created enough chances to score more goals and that is always encouraging. What impressed me was the way that both teams bounced back from losing their first game and played some fab futsal in their second game. We are not the tallest group of players, but they have the biggest hearts out there. Everyone played their part, everyone gets on court and works their socks off for the team, and as a coach I can’t ask anymore. Next time out we see the U15s start their spring campaign, so check back to see how they get on.
