Player of the Week – U12s – Naomi L – She gave everything on the pitch, running her socks off from start to finish! She showed real resilience after taking a tough hit from a bigger player—she was upset but didn’t let it stop her. Instead, she bounced back, kept going, and even found the back of the net! A fantastic display of determination and character.
Player of the Week – U15s – Lacey B – She was everywhere on the court, showing incredible work rate and a real physical presence. Her determination to win the ball back was relentless, making tackle after tackle to regain possession. And to top it all off, she found the back of the net! A brilliant all-around performance.
Coach’s Comment – It is always strange watching games back on video, especially as I am so used to being at every single game. But as the club continues to grow and the opportunities to play competitive futsal matches grows I just can’t be in two places at once…
Anyway back to the games, the players are continuing to take on board the way we want them to play, the principles of the game are on show repeatedly and the ongoing development is definitely showing. The U12s will feel they should have won the first game, but came back stronger in the second game and beat a strong GT Sports side. They are just needing that bit of luck to get those 2 wins they surely deserve. The U15s played some of the best futsal they have done as a team, and with 2 new players In the side also. They are looking to dominate team and everyone looks very comfortable on the ball, building from the back and being clinical in the finals third of the pitch.
A huge thank you to Tyler, a new coach but someone who has really impressed in his journey so far. Taking charge of both teams today is not an easy task, and a huge well done to him in the way he got the teams to play, and the great feedback we got from the various parents at the games.
