West Riding Girls Futsal League – Spring League Week 04

On Sunday 16 March Bootham U12 girls visited Batley Grammar School for the fourth week of the Spring West Riding Girls Futsal League. They are now halfway through these games, and were looking to kick on from the previous results. Performances have been strong without that bit of luck needed, what could they do today?
The U12s were represented by: Aoife M (GK), Maja G, Emily C, Naomi L, Rusne V, Mollie C and Amelia H.

The U14s were also in action with their second games in the Spring series. They have also played some fantastic futsal without getting the results their performances deserved, could they put this right also?
The U14s were represented by: Jess H, Scarlett W (GK), Mollie C, Imogen B, Bonnie-Shai C, Maisie M, Freya L and Rusne V.

Player of the Week – U12s – The Whole Team – Coach Tyler couldn’t pick just one player this week — every single member of the team earned it! He praised their incredible teamwork, relentless effort, and superb futsal skills. If not for yet another dodgy crossbar call, they would have secured two wins! The team played with heart, scored some fantastic goals, and never stopped fighting. A truly outstanding performance from everyone—well done, team!
Player of the Week – U14s – Scarlett – In both games, she made crucial saves that not only kept her team in the fight but also shifted the momentum when it mattered most. Despite some tough luck with rebounds falling straight to the opposition, she never gave up and showed incredible resilience. Her performances are making her one of the standout goalkeepers in the tournament—well done, Scarlett!
Coaches Comments:
Another fantastic day of futsal, with outstanding performances both individually and as a team. Every game was fiercely contested and could have gone either way. It’s fantastic to see the U12s bonding so well, trusting each other on and off the ball, and developing into a strong, cohesive unit. The whole club is incredibly proud of their progress!
As for the U14s, luck just doesn’t seem to be on their side this time around — close games, plenty of goals, some interesting refereeing decisions, and last-second equalisers have made for a tough run. However, with the majority of the squad still U13, the future looks incredibly bright. Their development remains a top priority, and we’re excited to see them grow.
A huge well done to both teams—you are truly putting Bootham Girls Futsal Club on the futsal map!
