Bootham U14s Vs Norristhorpe U14s

Bootham looked a little rusty and struggled to pass the ball in the first few minutes resulting in Norristhorpe racing to a 4-0 lead within the first 8 minutes. Bootham got one back when a corner was deflected into the Norristhorpe goal, but a quick break saw them restore their 4 goal lead. The longer the game went on, Bootham started to find their feet and Maygen got the ball rolling with a well taken long range shot. Another slick passing move saw Maygen grab her second and with 2 minutes left she complete her hat-trick. In the last minute Bootham created two fabulous chances to draw level but a save and a near miss saw Norristhorpe hold on for the win, in what was a brilliant futsal match from both sides.

Final score: Bootham U14s 4 – 5 Norristhorpe U14s

Bootham U15s Vs Rothwell U14s

A new team to the league Rothwell started very brightly with some good passing and movement and were rewarded with an early goal. Erin equalised with a well worked goal, but poor defending and good finishing saw Rothwell race into a 4-1 lead. Bootham came back with first a great finish from Aria and a superb goal involving the whole team, finished clinically by Hattie. Bootham were standing off their opponents and allowing them to play, and Rothwell took full advantage extended their lead with two further goals. Abbie scored a late goal for Bootham and late chances could have closed the gap, but Rothwell grabbed the final goal to run out comfortable and deserved winners.

Final score: Bootham U15s 4 – 7 Rothwell U14s

Players of the Match

U14s – Livia G – Only just back to playing futsal, she worked her socks off, both in and out of possession. She was unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions and never once let her head drop. Fantastic attitude and great performance Livia!

U15s – Aria P – In a game that got more physical as it went on, Aria did not take one step backwards and her physicality was outstanding, she really did put her body on the line for the team. Her 1v1 defending was as good as anyone in the match, top job Aria!
