With some of the best futsal of the of the tournament, the passing and movement from both teams was a delight to watch. Both goalkeepers, Jessica and Heidi were making plenty of saves and just before the end of the first half the U15s finally broke the deadlock with goals from Abbie and Millie. Match 02

The U14s took on Norristhorpe U14s in their second game of the day and it just wasn’t their day. They created chance after chance in the 1st half but could beat a resolute Norristhorpe goalkeeper, and the half finished 2-0 to Norristhorpe. The second half was much of the same, with Bootham playing some neat and tidy futsal but unable to score. Bootham finally broke through when Mia smashed home a free kick but Norristhorpe hit them on the break to give a final score of 5-1 to Norristhorpe. The score line didn’t reflect the way the girls played, but well done to the opposition on some stunning finishing.

The U15s played Norristhorpe U15s in their second game of the day, and boy they were in determined mood. A fast start saw they take a 4-1 lead at the interval, with 2 each for Millie and Lacey. The second half was one way traffic with some sublime 1 and 2 passing from the whole squad, and goals galore! Four goals from Aria, another 3 from Lacey and one for Abbie saw a final score of 12-1 to Bootham. Watching the U15s when they are in this mood was pure delight, they moved the ball from one end of the court to another, happy to play backwards and use the width, with players swopping in the safety role, pure futsal!

Players of the Tournament

U12s – Maisie M – The more matches she played, the better she looked. Her power and drive when running with the ball were brilliant to see, and some of the goal she scored were simply stunning, top job Maisie!

U13s – Jessica H – A player who just grew in confidence throughout the matches and really came of age. Possibly the best defender in all the squads, but also one who was calm on the ball and comfortable running it out. The best this young lady has ever played, amazing improvements!

U14s – Maja M – Another player who grew in confidence throughout the matches. Her physicality and desire to win the ball helped keep her team on the front foot in all their games. She has started to add goals to her game, so another player we need to keep an eye on!

U15s – Millie T – Her running with the ball and pace are going to cause problems for players at any level, and her eye for goal is making her a top futsal player. She is still learning the game but what a player we have on our hands!
