York RI Girls Back After The Winter Break
York Railway Institute U13 Girls resume their training tonight at Manor CE Academy, on the school’s astro pitch.
The girls have so far won seven out of seven, scoring 59 and conceding only 4 in their league games this season. They sit top of the league with a five-point advantage and a game in hand over the second place teams of Bishopthorpe White Rose and Rawcliffe.
First game back is this Saturday away at Kirk Deighton Rangers, who they beat 16-0 earlier in the season. Coach Chris Collins doubts it will be the same score line as Kirk Deighton Rangers have improved greatly since they last played them, so he is looking for the right attitude tonight and again on Saturday.
York RI will also have a new player making her debut during the match on Saturday. Lucy joined at the back-end of last year and will play some part against Kirk Deighton Rangers. Coaches Chris and Suzy can’t wait to see how she does. Suzy spotted her at the futsal sessions at Manor CE Academy and suggested she try playing with the older girls outside on grass.
Check back over the weekend to see how York RI got on, could the girls make it 8 out of 8 wins for the season?
