Bootham Girls’ Futsal Club – York is thrilled to announce that we will be making our first-ever appearance on the European stage this June! The team is heading to Italy to compete in the prestigious Montesilvano International Youth Futsal Tournament.

Our U17 squad will go head-to-head with top teams from Australia, Italy, and Hungary, with more fixtures to be confirmed soon. The girls will face four days of intense competition, pushing their skills to the limit in pursuit of a spot in the knockout stages.

This is a huge milestone for the club, and we can’t wait to represent York on the international futsal scene! Stay tuned for updates as we prepare for this exciting journey.

🔹 Vice-Captain: York U16 Futsal Cup-winning captain Hannah B

They’ll be joined by talented teammates: Lacey B, Erin E, Molly G, Eleanor C, Abbie D, Heidi J, and Hattie F—a squad that has collectively made over 800 training and match appearances for Bootham!

Leading the team will be coaches Chris, Suzy, Colin, and Tyler, alongside a dedicated group of proud parents and supporters.

Head Coach Chris said, ‘The whole club is so excited about this! The girls, parents, and coaches—we all just can’t wait. We’ve wanted to take the club abroad for futsal, but timing was always a challenge. This year, I made it a priority to make it happen. The tournament has fantastic reviews, and from what we’ve seen on YouTube, the competition will be tough. There’s no pressure on the team—we’re going to learn, experience different styles of play, and most importantly, enjoy every moment!’

He finished by saying, ‘A huge thank you to the Jasmine at North Riding County FA, the schools and parents for allowing the girls to travel to this event. We know without their support we would not able to make this memorable journey.’
