Bootham Ladies’ Futsal Club – York are delighted to announce that Ava and Ruby have both been invited back to attend further trials with England U19 Women’s Futsal. Along with three others from Bootham, the girls attended trials in late December 2023 and earlier last week received the news that they have been invited back.

A delighted Coach Chris spoke to us, ‘Wow, the club are so proud of them both, what an amazing opportunity and one we know they will take with both hands. These girls have worked so hard in the first half of this season and represented the ladies’ team on numerous occasions, both have scored goals and have impressed everyone in the team. They are not in the England squad yet, but to get through and be invited back shows the talent, determination, and desire both have. We wish them all the very best and fingers crossed they can go all the way and grab that elusive England shirt. I would also like to thank Sophie, Heather and Katie for attending the trials, it wasn’t their time, but all three will have the chance to go back and try again in a couple of years.’
