It was the turn of the U15s to return to Batley for round two of their West Riding Futsal League fixtures. After a solid start in the opening week, the girls were keen to build on their progress. With many of the squad set to travel to Italy later in the year, it provided a valuable opportunity to gain more game time together and continue developing as a cohesive team.

With Halifax unfortunately unable to field a side, resulting in a forfeit of their league points, Bootham instead played a highly competitive 25-minute per half match against Samba.

A small but very talented U15s squad took to the court, consisting of Eleanor C, Elena D, Daisy S, Maisie M, Mollie C, Scarlett W, Sophie C, and Hattie F.

Player of the Week – U15s – The Whole Squad – Very difficult to pick a single Player of the Week when the entire squad was outstanding. Every player got on the scoresheet and each one of them worked their socks off from start to finish. At half-time, the team came together to reflect on what they could improve and, as a group, identified a couple of key areas to work on. They took this on board brilliantly, and what followed was an excellent second-half performance, taking their chances and securing a convincing win. Top team, top attitude, top win! 👏⚽

Coaches Comments: Really proud of the way the girls responded after that first half. Coming up against a completely new group they hadn’t faced before is never easy, but they listened, adapted, and stepped up when it mattered. And that second half? Outstanding. The quality, the movement, the confidence with some fantastic futsal on display. 💥⚽. A special mention to our three U14s stepping up into this age group, they showed real character today, stood tall, and made a huge contribution. That’s what it’s all about. 👏.

We always talk about futsal being a team game, and today proved it, every single outfield player got on the scoresheet. Incredible effort, togetherness, and belief from the whole squad. Massive performance. Massive team. 💪🔥
